w/b 11 DEC

Keep Wednesday evening, 21st December free for our traditional Christmas Family Table Quiz at 7.30pm.

The Tuesday night Irish Class is slowly building up and there’s always room for more at it so why not give it a try on next Tuesday 20th before it takes a Christmas break returning on 10th January. Dianna Clare has come on board as Officer for Irish language and Cultural and has some fresh ideas to help us all become more engaged with this important but neglected part of our club.Tá súil a fheiceann tú ann!

The Men’s Shed enjoyed a lovely Christmas Dinner at the Kilmorey Arms on Thursday.

There was a huge turn-out for the Festive Family Fun event at Dunavil, thanks to all the helpers, to Cromore Castles for their professional service and to Newry, Mourne and Down Council for their assistance; hope everyone had a great time. (photos attached)

Twenty people completed the Clubs for Young People Child Protection course at Dunavil on Tuesday, well done. With quite a few football and Camogie mentors still requiring a Child Protection certificate, another course will have to take place in January, up to date Child Protection and Access NI checks are essential for everyone working with children and children are everyone U18.

An Riocht Membership 2017 now due Child (U18) £10; Adult £25; Senior Citizen £10; Family £60 (2 adults & unlimited children).

If you are alone, lonely or the whole Christmas Day fuss is just too much, then why not join us at Dunavil at 1pm for a traditional Christmas Dinner on Christmas Day. Christmas Gift ideas at Dunavil include, camogie gloves, bas bags, sticks, sliothars, mouth guards, hurling stick shaped medal holders.

Thanks to all those who helped build, light and stock the trophy cabinet, it is certainly a feature and has received only good comments from visitors. Also, the internal and external Christmas decorations and light display are brilliant, well worth a visit after dark, well done everyone. Work is now underway in restoring 35 years’ worth of team photos for display in the bottom corridor.

An Riocht ‘Cow Pat’ challenge squares on sale now from the club or any committee member.

 Hi folks

Probably a long shot to see if any of your teams fancied a spin down the day of football league game between Clare and Down on Sunday 12 February?

We would love to have a visit from any group from U8 to U16 and could play few mini games, have refreshments and travel onto match after.

Probably be a long day out but maybe that’s a time when kids have mid-term break. It’s a three and half hour run.

Let me know anyway if any interest
