The Ladies of Mourne held both a cookery demonstration and a first-aid course at Kingdom last week with some of our young people taking part; well done Ciarrai, Clare and Eve.

Storm Doris put paid to the Men’s Shed visit to Exploris, the NI Aquarium though it is rescheduled for this week.

The Men’s Shedders were happy recipients of warm winter clothing from Kathy Gallagher Newry & Mourne Senior Citizens Consortium.

On Friday, a group of young people and leaders from Kingdom YC visited Shamrocks YC in Newry. Thanks to Leaders Lee and Aedin and Volunteers Daiva and Tracey for making the trip possible. It is intended to repeat this with other youth clubs so check at the club for regular updates. The boys who enjoyed this outing were Jack, Daniel, Conor, Darragh, Ethan, Ryan, Zac, Tyler, Luke and Shea.

Well done to Hayley McDowell who won the Purcell Shield with University of Ulster and good luck to Conor Clarke in the MacRory Cup replay.

Aoife, Lauren and Tiarna were away with the Down Minor Camogs at the weekend in the first match of the All Ireland Minor ‘B’ Championship.

At the Senior Football Cooley Kickhams v An Riocht, our boys continued their good preseason form with a third straight win.

The U16 footballers played Atticall in awful conditions on Sunday, next Sunday they are off to Magherafelt O’Donovan Rossa’s before taking in the Down match.

With the programme of activities on offer at Dunavil ever changing over the next few weeks, please ensure that there is an activity for your child(ren) taking place before dropping them off at the club. Parents have a very important role to play. We would encourage parents to participate in club activities while their children are playing our games. This will encourage them to keep coming back. Volunteering in the club does not stop with coaching, there are many other areas that may be of interest and training is always available.

The first Down GAA Draw took place at the weekend with Pat Rodgers a £200 winner.
