On Saturday 15th April from 10am to 12pm there is a tidy up taking place at Dunavil with grass and hedges to be cut, some weeding also, a spot of painting to be done, the ball stop nets to be raised etc so if free please call out and give a hand. There will be no coaching that day.

The Football Committee are making up a rota for home senior matches with gate men and car park attendants, linesmen and umpires all required to cover our eleven home fixtures. If everyone volunteers once then no one will have too much to do.

There is a big push on now to complete the ‘Cow Pat’ squares, anyone who can help part fill a sheet should collect one and part fill it before returning it for someone else to fully complete.

The first of our annual football tournaments is coming soon. The Paul Farrell Cup & Shield U14 Seven-A-Side will take place at Dunavil on Saturday 29th April. Entries are confirmed from St Johns, St Galls, Sarsfields and St Brigids, Belfast; Greenlough from Derry, Trillick from Tyrone, Roche Emmets from Louth, Carrickcruppen from Armagh and Eire Og, Kilcoo, Aughlisnafin and An Riocht from Down. Anyone wanting to participate should contact This email address is being protected from spambots. An Riocht U14 Gaelic lost heavily in Ballyholland in their first match of the league.

An Riocht U16 Camogs kicked off their season with an impressive win over travelling team Kilclief. In the first half both teams were relatively well matched and at the half time whistle An Riocht only lead 0-2 to 0-1 with both points coming from Clare Fearon. With a few changes to the line-up, the An Riocht girls started the second half much hungrier and the spectators got to witness a sneak preview of the skill and talent that we hope will be on show for the rest of the season. Cerys Clarke commanded the back line with confidence and stability while Mollie Ireland worked steadily in midfield supplying Shannagh Campbell with great balls that she effortlessly transferred into one goal and three points. Amy Clarke had a tough game as she marked the danger player for Kilclief but she was relentless in her efforts which no doubt kept her scores to a minimum.  Clare Fearon who had moved into full forward went on a scoring spree and added a further 3-1 to the score.  Cerys Clarke converted two fine frees leaving the final score An Riocht 4-8 to Kilclief 2-2.  It was a great sporting game from both teams and a big thank you our U14 that stepped up for the night.

In U16 Gaelic An Riocht beat Longstone 3-15 to 1-12 on a foggy night at Dunavil. Jack Rodgers was impressive in the halfback line and Eoin Sloan in fine scoring form at full forward.

Team: C Flanagan, JJ Eakins, E Wright, D Nugent, R Mackey, J Rodgers, C Flanagan, C Clarke, R Flanagan, C Campbell, J Cunningham, W Harper, E Sloan, R Colgan, L Donnan.

An Riocht Senior Footballers beat Shamrocks 5-10 to 1-8 on Friday in their final warm-up match before the start of the league.

Team: S Doran, R Clarke, M Clarke, L Rodgers, S Clarle, P Allen, J Cunningham, K Colgan, R McAlinden, C Cole, D Doyle, C Mulligan, R Cunningham, D Morgan, P Gartland.

In the U12 Gaelic An Riocht v Ballyholland, An Riocht got the scores to match their good play and ran out clear winners over visiting Harps.

Team: Jayden White, Daegan Cordell, Jack McDonald, Luke Quinn, Zac Curran, Darragh McAlinden, Odhran Phillips, Tyler Shepcar, Cameron Gribben, Conor McConville, Oran McAleenan, Oisin Davies, Eoin Sloan, Ethan Finnegan, Luke Quinn.
