As expected Ballycran didn’t lie down and came out fighting in the second half, putting An Riocht under pressure. But two well taken Alana Poland goals steadied An Riocht as they held on for the win.

Senior An Riocht Seniors Camogs travelled to Ballycran

Senior Camogie An Riocht Seniors Camogs travelled to Ballycran last Monday night, with an under strength team. Ballycran got a couple of early scores but with An Riochts next two shots they came away with a goal and a point, only for Ballycran to score a goal in their next attack. It was all Ballycran for ten minutes but Shaunece Harper proved to be a great last line of defence for the Mourne girls. The second half started the same way the first had ended, Ballycran getting an early goal, but the Kingdom girls were showing great heart and passion and never gave up.

They were rewarded with a couple of points and two late goals by Maria Higgins and Colleen Fearon. On a positive note there were great performances by Shaunece Harper, Ella Colgan, Louise Rodgers, Orla McAlinden and Colleen Fearon in the second half.

On an even more positive note it was great to see Noelle Fearon and Nicole Kelly back in the Kingdom colours. Team; Shaunece Harper, Clara Killen, Louise Clarke, Ella Colgan, Colleen Fearon, Louise Rodgers, Aine O'Reilly, Ciara Cunningham, Michelle Horner, Marie Trainor, Maria Higgins, Orla McAlinden, Sophie Colgan, Noelle Fearon, Nicole Kelly, Danielle Higgins.

An Riocht Senior Camogs beat Ballela

An Riocht Senior Camogs beat Ballela on Tuesday evening at Dunavil in the most miserable weather.

It was hard fought from the start with Ballela getting an early goal; it may the An Riocht girls raised their game and with Sophie Colgan scoring at ease from frees and a fine individual goal from Alana Poland the An Riocht girls lead by four points at half time. The rain never eased and Ballela came out with a point to prove, and got an early score on the board but could never close the gap sufficiently.
