Final: An Riocht U14 Camogie V Portaferry

The U14 Camogs travelled to Downpatrick on Sunday past to play Portaferry in the Cup Championship final.  It had the makings of a very skilful game and so it proved.  Portaferry came out strong with the An Riocht girls giving the same.  The hard work throughout the year showed on the field as each girl delivered star performances as all the skill of camogie was shown by both sides on the day. In the first half Portaferry scored 2-2 with An Riocht 1-3 and it was anyone’s game at this stage.  The second half An Riocht came out strong and determined but Portaferry were getting the breaks at the right time and went on to win the game with a couple of goals to spare.

The Kingdom girls will learn greatly from this performance as they were close through out against the All Ireland Feile champions, the future for An Riocht camogie is looking bright and strong.

Many thanks go to the managers and parents who provided lifts throughout the year and also helped on the day. Team: Beth Colgan, Niamh McKibben, Megan Hughes, Caitlin Quinn, Kirsti Cunningham, Emma Cousins, Lauren Clarke, Patrice Matthews, Tiarna Donnan, Sinead O'Rourke, Kerry Murnion, Ciarrai Connors, Nicole Farrell, Andrea O'Neill, Caoimhe McAlinden, Caoimhe Leigh Spiers.
