An Riocht Minor Footballers - Past News 2014

U18 Football Liatroim v An Riocht

The U18 Footballers lost in Liatroim by 1-11 to 3-13. After a good start in which we led three nil, our failure to take other chances allowed the home side settle and they replied with an uninterrupted 1-7 in a fifteen minute period of dominance. We had our chances but a combination of loose handling and poor shot selection prevented us building a substantial lead. Their twenty seventh minute goal stung a response from our team and at the break the deficit was five points, 0-6 to 1-8.

Nathan McComiskey came on for his first match after a yearlong injury layoff and pointed with his first touch and almost got in for a goal in the next attack but again Liatroim got on top and enjoyed a decent period of pressure which yielded a string of points before defensive errors allowed them in for two late goals despite some great saves by Stephen Doran.

Team: S Doran 0-1, A Eastwood, K Colgan, A Harper, L Rodgers, S McDowell, A Sloan 0-1, JP Farrell 0-1, J Walker, R White 0-2, D Morgan, D Matthews 0-1, C Clarke 0-1, M O’Rourke 1-3, D Campbell. Subs: C Morgan, N McComiskey 0-1, M Harper.
