An Riocht Reserves played their second friendly in a week when Aughlisnafin visited Dunavil

An Riocht Reserves played their second friendly in a week when Aughlisnafin visited Dunavil on a cold and windy Thursday night.

The visitors played with a strong breeze in the first half and led nine points to two points at half time, An Riocht’s scores coming from Conor Cole with a finely judged curler and from Nathan McComiskey after a storming run from Michael Clarke.
Cole pointed again from the throw-in but the ‘Finn matched An Riocht score for score and led by 0-12 to 0-5 with thirty nine minutes played.

The home side gradually got the measure of the wind and fired over five unanswered points, the pick from Aidan McVeigh after good play by Brendan Allen, and McVeigh had strong claims for a penalty waved away but An Riocht had fallen just short at 0-12 to 0-10 when the final whistle sounded. Thanks to Aughlisnafin for the match and Roy McDowell for refereeing.

Team: S Doran; R Clarke, S Corr, S Sloan; S McVeigh, M Clarke, S Knox; C Cole 0-4, D Doyle; J McCartan, D Ross, N McComiskey 0-1; A McVeigh 0-4, S Corr, C Cunningham. Half time subs P Doyle, JP Farrell 0-1.
