Trocaire Intermediate Football Championship Winners Group

An Riocht 3-11 Darragh Cross 1-11

An Riocht enjoyed a great start and led 1-3 to 0-1 after seven minutes, the goal coming from Sean Clarke. Thereafter Darragh took control and were level by the twenty fifth minute thanks mainly to Shane Murray’s accuracy from placed balls and were in front soon after from a Michael Monan strike.

Liam McVeigh did draw An Riocht back on terms but Darragh enjoyed a better finish to the half, a Shane Murray effort from top of the left sending them in 0-10 to 1-5 ahead.

An Riocht came out determined for the restart and held Darragh to a pointed free and a penalty goal and scored an uninterrupted 2-4 before the first of Darragh’s scores in the fifty second minute. Liam McVeigh on the overlap bagged the first and Deaglan Morgan off a one two with Sean Clarke hit the second.

There was no chance of Darragh’s late scores being of more than consolation value with Martin Clarke and Deaglan Morgan sending over late long range points for the winners.
