Reserve Football Championship at Dunavil v Longstone

At the Reserve Football Championship at Dunavil v Longstone, An Riocht recorded a good win 1-15 to 1-2 to reach the quarter finals. After Michael O’Rourke had opened the scoring, Stephen Doran landed two huge frees to give us a great start and though the visitors replied with a free this proved to be their only score of the half. The An Riocht defence dominated the Longstone attack and we were getting more than a fair pull at centre field so the forwards thrived on a regular supply of ball and pointed at will before approaching half time Jerry Lee Cordell punched a goal and we went in leading 1-9 to 0-1. Two Michael O’Rourke points on the restart ensured there would be no Longstone comeback and as we emptied our bench Dane Matthews shone at midfield for the final twenty minutes.
