SFL Div 2: Drumgath 2-9 An Riocht 2-26

An Riocht’s recent run of good form in the league continued with this 19 point win at Drumgath on Monday past. The winners backed by a fresh breeze led ten nil after twenty minutes and both Martin Clarke and Deaglan Morgan came close to goals apiece in the early stages.

Drumgath’s first score, a Mark Connolly point, triggered an immediate response from An Riocht with Martin Clarke shooting a goal to bring his first half tally to 1-5.

Just before the break Jack Lynch added Drumgath’s second score and they really gave it a go on the restart with the first four points of the half before An Riocht took control with the next five by the three quarter stage.

Drumgath then enjoyed another little spell which delivered goals to Paul Lively and Cathal Tumilty but the Mourne side stepped it up again adding 1-3, the goal a penalty from Brendan McVeigh, before the final whistle.

An Riocht: B McVeigh 1-0, J O’Rourke, D O’Reilly, Michael Clarke, C Doyle, P Allen, L McVeigh, R Cunningham 0-1, K Colgan, D Doyle 0-3, D Morgan 0-2, C Cole 0-5, N McArdle 0-4, C Killen 0-4 (3f), Martin Clarke 1-7 (1f).
