An Riocht claim Down Feile B Title
Over 500 U14 Gaelic football players and 24 teams from all over County Down descend on Newry for the 2012 Down GAA Football Feile on Easter Monday. The competition organised by Down GAA Bord na Og saw over 60 games take place at three venues throughout Newry - St Colman’s College, Abbey CBS and Pairc Esler.
The competition was split into three sections with the group stages of Section A taking place in St Colman‘s College, Section B in the Abbey and Section C at Pairc Esler. The semi-finals and finals of all three sections took place in Pairc Esler. An Riocht were involved in Section B at the Abbey CBS. In total six teams took part in Section B: Liatroim, Warrenpoint, Clann Na Banna, Glenn, Kilcoo and ourselves. In the group stages An Riocht won all their games and toped the group to set up a semi final meeting with Liatroim in Pair Esler.
In the semi final we beat Liatroim 3-05 to 0-02 to set up a final show down with Warrenpoint. In the final An Riocht won by two points 3-02 to 2-03 in a game which could have gone either way right to the final whistle.
Burren won Section A defeating Carryduff in the final while in Section C Drumaness beat Longstone
