The launch of the An Riocht Gaelic Games Football Og Sport for P1 to P4 boys took place at Dunavil on Saturday with a good turnout of children and parents. Thanks to everyone who helped make the event a huge success including Ulster GAA coach Ciaran Murtagh who gave a Fundamentals demonstration.
At the Fingallians Football Festival in Dublin, An Riocht U10 won the ‘B’ competition after matches with St Lomans (Westmeath), Newbridge Sarsfields (Kildare) and Dublin teams Fingal Ravens, Roundtowers, and Sylvesters. Thanks to Paul and June for organising the day and the parents who travelled to help.

A bumper 45 teams have expressed an interest in the Jim Mulholland Cup & Shield 11-a-side P5/P6 (U10) Football @ An Riocht (Down) on Saturday 15th June.

There are 8 pitches available, first matches will throw-in 10.30am; with Cup, Shield and Plate Finals commencing between 3.30pm and 4pm.

All our Tournaments have been organised in accordance with County, Provincial & National regulations.
The emphasis in all the tournaments will be on enjoyment and playing against new teams.
Teas and sandwiches, burgers, ice cream and juice will be on sale.
The first games each day will throw-in at 10.30am, with the finals taking place between 3.30pm and 4pm, each team is guaranteed at least four group games plus a minimum of one knockout game. There is an entry fee of £25. Action & team photos will be taken on the day.
Teams are 11-a-side with unlimited substitutions at a stoppage in play.
All games 5 minutes a half. .
Players will be penalised for running too far with the ball in their hands (One toe tap one bounce only)
All frees and kick outs from the hands. Frees by fouled player, kick outs by goalie, line balls by nearest player. Kick outs from within the square. Fouls within square = penalty.
All other usual rules of play apply. Abuse of referees / officials will result in automatic expulsion and future invitations will be in jeopardy.
First aiders will be available if anyone requires assistance.
Road direction signs will be erected at the turn off the main Kilkeel to Newry Road and the Kilkeel to Cranfield Road. Anyone in difficulty should ring the club 028 4176 3681.
Buses only will be allowed park in the club grounds.
There are two car parks available opposite the pitch and an industrial park 100yards away for any overspill.
Please co-operate with the stewards who will be wearing yellow bibs.
On arrival a team representative should go to the club house to register, pay entry fee (£25 per club) and receive fixtures.
As you will appreciate with so many teams and a tight schedule your co-operation is vital; if you are running late or unable to attend please let us know as soon as possible.
DIRECTIONS FROM NEWRY
Follow signs for Warrenpoint & Docks;
At Greenbank Roundabout take the second exit onto Warrenpoint Road; Continue forward 5 miles into Warrenpoint; Drive straight through Warrenpoint;
Facing East Coast Adventure Centre turn left Continue Forward 2 miles into Rostrevor.
At Rostrevor mini roundabout turn right signposted Kilkeel.
After 4 mile come to hump backed bridge – big sign ‘Welcome to Kingdom of Mourne’ – Road breaks into 3 lanes – turn right off main road (at derelict white house) signposted Cranfield, Caravans etc. (We will have a sign here).
Take second road to left– Corcreaghan Road– on a sweeping bend – before barn with big red doors (We will have a sign here).
Go straight no more turns - come to a wee bridge – go over it - at crossroads continue straight onto Dunnaval Road.
Arrive at Club on your right.

Drive through Annalong;
Drive through Ballymartin;
At ASDA continue straight;
At town centre lights continue straight;
Drive past Kilmorey Arms Hotel (on left);
Drive out of town approx one mile;
Drive past Scrogg Road on right;
Take next road on right Dunnaval Road (We will have a sign here);
Arrive at Club on your left
Total time 30 minutes;
(If you come to a VIVO shop on your left you will have missed the right turn by 100 yards)
Moy beat Burren in the Kingdom Cup while Clonduff beat Burren ‘A’ in the Shield final.
An Riocht reached the Shield semi finals and enjoyed games with Downpatrick, Clonduff, Bryansford, and Burren on the day.
