Premier Reserve Football League An Riocht had Liatroim as visitors to Dunavil and won 2-10 to 2-3

In the Premier Reserve Football League An Riocht had Liatroim as visitors to Dunavil and won 2-10 to 2-3.  Keeper Stephen Doran helped his side to the perfect start when he converted a third minute penalty after a foul on Brian Sloan and then just minutes later made a great point blank save to keep the Fontenoys out.

Aidan McVeigh and Conor Cole added quick fire points as An Riocht went five nil clear. Liatroim enjoyed a good attacking spell scoring two frees and once from play but An Riocht reasserted control in the closing minutes of the half with points from Stephen Corr and Michael O’Rourke capped by a classic full forward goal from Brian Sloan off a Liam Rodgers cross.

An Riocht struck the first three points of the second half before Liatroim replied with a penalty goal but there was no way back for the visitors as An Riocht scored three more, the pick from Michael Harper after good interplay and then Damian Sherry from distance. In added time Liatroim goaled again but An Riocht had done enough to get their league campaign off to a winning start.
