The Reserve Footballers had Saval as visitors to Dunavil in the Premier League and won comfortably enough 2-13 to 1-8. An Riocht played some good football and took their scores well. Conor Cole started and finished the move for the first goal with Adam White heavily involved in the build-up and Paddy Gartland beat the visitors’ keeper soon after but had his shot cleared off the line. An Riocht led 1-6 to 0-1 and had missed several decent goal chances before a lazy finish to the half presented Saval with four tap over frees to keep them in it at the break 1-6 to 0-5.

Conor Cole, Paddy Gartland and Adam White continued to torment the visitors on the restart with points apiece but Saval threatened on occasions and Stephen Doran saved smartly to deny them a goal. Their goal did come ten minutes from the end when Domnall Murphy beat Brendan Allen from close range but with Paddy Gartland dropping back as sweeper the Saval men could not get through again while up the other end Stephen Doran played a high diagonal ball to Conor Morgan who drew the defenders before slipping the ball to Aidan McVeigh who pirouetted around and rolled it under the keeper for An Riocht’s second goal.
