The U16 Footballers played Eire Og in Ballymartin, both sides mustered fifteen players and played them all from the start with the home side reversing the earlier result winning on a 6-6 to 1-9 score line. Play swung end to end with both teams shooting a large amount of wides and An Riocht also hit the bar and post while John Joe Eakins took a goal bound shot off the line. It was one nil to An Riocht after fifteen minutes before Eire Og goaled and went on lead by five at the break, 2-2 to 0-3. At 4-6 to 0-4 behind Ronan Campbell, who had made some magnificent high catches, flicked an Eoin Sloan forty-five to the net and we added five points to leave six between the teams before Eire Og goaled twice late on to secure the win.
