The U13 Football An Riocht v Clonduff was postponed due to a generator failure but the match in Warrenpoint went ahead which we lost 5-14 to 2-6.

In the Basketball NI Premier League match at Dunavil between the Knights and BC Wolves Cookstown, the visitors emerged victorious.

In the SFL Div One An Riocht lost to Mayobridge 2-15 to 2-11 at Dunavil on Saturday. Ahead seven points to six at the break, An Riocht were caught napping on the restart and let in 2-5 to 0-1 in a traumatic third quarter before rallying and finishing strongly.

Team: S Doran, R Clarke, C Doyle, C Mulligan, L Rodgers, P Allen 0-1, J Cunningham, J Colgan, J O’Rourke 0-1, D Morgan, R McAlinden 1-4, B Rodgers, N McArdle 1-2, S Clarke 0-2, P Gartland 0-1. Subs: M Clarke

An Riocht took part in the U12 Camogie Blitz in Clonduff.

Some 30-young people have just concluded a six weeks ‘Relax Kids’ programme and on Thursday past received their certificates. ‘Relax Kids’ is a children’s relaxation programme aimed at helping children to feel confident and calm. It uses a 7-step method to teach children relaxation through movement, games, stretching and breathing exercises, peer light touch, positive affirmations and creative visualisation.

The close-season is an ideal time for catching up with coaching and other qualifications. It is recommended that Senior & Reserve Coaches have a Level 2 Adult Award; Minor & U16 & U14 Coaches have a Level 1 Youth Award; and U12 Coaches to infants have a Level 1 Children Award. All coach education at each level begins with a Foundation course and after one year, the coach can then specialise in whichever age group he or she favours and progress up the ladder through Level 1 to Level 2 and onto Level 3 where available. There are other one-off coach opportunities such as Fundamentals etc which serve to enhance the core qualification of Foundation, Level 1 & Level 2. All these courses can be arranged through the Club so if interested contact Club Coaching Officers Seamus Curran (football) or Veronica McGreevy (camogie) or call into the office. Don’t let these opportunities pass without taking full advantage of them; we do not have enough coaches and need to recruit if (y)our footballers and camogs are to fulfil their undoubted potential.

There will be a Fireworks display at Dunavil on Halloween night, 31st October, at 8.30pm.

Santa will travel to Dunavil in his reindeer led sleigh to turn on our Christmas lights at 7.30pm on Friday 24th November.
