We are excited and looking forward to supporting our U16 Camogs in their Championship Final v Clonduff on Sunday. If you would like to show your support, you can put in a Good Luck Message for £10. If interested, please contact the Club asap. Thanks as always for all your support.
Young People are being left off at the club at night when there is no activity arranged for them or they do not want to take part in the activities that are happening that night, this cannot continue. The youth work staff and volunteers have enough to do to cater with the organised activities and cannot be responsible for or distracted by young people who are not attending the club but are left by parents to run around outside on dark nights. If this continues we will have no option but to bar them from all activities. If there is any activity any young person wants to happen at the club, all they have to do is tell a youth worker and we will do our best to make it happen. Also, we would welcome any offers from adults to help staff increased activities at night. Thank you.
Five club coaches attended the St Columban’s Coaching Day on Saturday.
An Riocht won the Donard Murphy U12 Football Tournament in Rostrevor on Saturday to bring the curtain down on a very successful season.
A big thank you to all who attended the first Engage-HER session including our volunteer mentor who travelled from Belfast to help our camogie try to be better, and an early reminder for all, including those who missed the first night, that the second session is at 7.30pm on Monday 11th December.

Parents have a very important role to play. We would encourage parents to participate in club activities; this will encourage the children to keep coming back. Get Involved – Play Your Part in Your Childs Development – You Can Do It. We offer the perfect opportunity for mummies & daddies, grandparents & others to get involved in promoting our games with our young people; its only once a week, its only for six weeks, its @ Dunavil, what could be easier! Contact any of the coaches to take part or call into the club anytime.
The Men’s Shed latest outing was to the Tayto Factory in Tandragee, their Christmas Dinner is on Thursday 7th December.
The close-season is an ideal time for catching up with coaching and other qualifications. It is recommended that Senior & Reserve Coaches have a Level 2 Adult Award; Minor & U16 & U14 Coaches have a Level 1 Youth Award; and U12 Coaches to infants have a Level 1 Children Award. All coach education at each level begins with a Foundation course and after one year, the coach can then specialise in whichever age group he or she favours and progress up the ladder through Level 1 to Level 2 and onto Level 3 where available. There are other one-off coach opportunities such as Fundamentals etc which serve to enhance the core qualification of Foundation, Level 1 & Level 2. All these courses can be arranged through the Club so if interested contact Club Coaching Officers Seamus Curran (football) or Veronica McGreevy (camogie) or call into the office. Don’t let these opportunities pass without taking full advantage of them; we do not have enough coaches and need to recruit if (y)our footballers and camogs are to fulfil their undoubted potential.
