Laura Brennan and Sophie Colgan are going to be playing in Dublin in the World Games with New York Camogie

Laura Brennan and Sophie Colgan are going to be playing in Dublin in the World Games with New York Camogie. They are the only two Down girls on the panel of 12, Laura is vice-captain. The World Games are on from Sunday 7th August (opening ceremony in Croke Park) to Friday 12th August. The Cup Final is in Croke Park that Friday if they make it! And all the games are being played in UCD. Both girls would love to see some of the Kingdom folk showing their support? Good luck Girls.

Coincidentally An Riocht U12 Camogs are playing in Croke Park on Monday 8th August in the Caman to Croker programme so perhaps something can be arranged! At Croke Park An Riocht U12 Camogs will play matches with Thurles Sarsfields Tipperary, Ballinasloe Pearses Galway and Kilmallock Limerick.

An Riocht / KYC News - 4th July 2016

The Ladies of Mourne end of year celebration took place at Dunavil on Wednesday past.

Thanks to everyone who participated in, supported or helped with the 24 Hour Charity Spinathon, Coffee Morning, or Country Music Jamboree. It was a great CLUB weekend with so many different strands of club life coming together in a good cause.

The Kingdom Youth Club Annual General Meeting will take place on Wednesday 6 July at 7.30pm and everyone aged 13+ is invited to attend. The purpose is to elect a KYC Board whose duty will be to safeguard the interests of the members by ensuring that Governance, Premises, Finances & Leadership are fit for purpose; it is not Board members’ role to supervise activities on a nightly basis. The Board meets once a month, a role on the Board may suit an older person or parent who wants to help but does not want to be involved on a daily basis with face to face youth work.

There was a big turnout for the summer scheme registration; anyone who did not make it on Thursday can pick up summer scheme registration forms from the office, a form must be completed for each young person before they can participate in the summer scheme.

Jennifer has drawn up a short questionnaire for young people to complete telling us what you like or dislike about the club and what activities you want the club to provide; forms are available from the office.
