A group from the Men’s Shed enjoyed Philip Orr’s 1916 play ‘Half Way House’ at Sean Hollywood Arts Centre Newry. The Men’s Shed continues on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11am. There are cards, 45, at 8pm at Dunavil on Wednesdays. On Tuesday 3rd February there is a talk on ‘Sport in Ulster & The First World War’ by GAA historian Donal McAnallen, in Kilkeel Library.


Ladies gentle keep-fit Tuesdays at 10am and Wednesdays at 6pm, numbers have increased but there’s always room for more.


For the more serious keep-fitter Boot Camp takes place thrice weekly, on Mondays at 7pm, Wednesdays at 8.15pm, and Saturdays at 9.15am.


Irish Dancing continues twice a week at 6pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.



Football practices this week are: Adult on Tuesday and Friday at 7.30pm; U14 on Monday at 8.30pm; U12 on Tuesday at 6.45pm; P5 & P6 on Friday at 6.30pm; P3 & P4 on Saturday at 12pm; P1 & P2 on Saturday at 11am. The Senior and Reserve footballers play Ballyholland on Sunday.


Upcoming Coach opportunities include on Tuesdays at Dunavil at 8pm Coaching for U14 & U16 Coaches; on Saturday 30th at 10am Volunteer Education Workshop on Club Coaching at St Malachys HS Castlewellan; on Friday 5th, Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th February Level One Child Award at Dunavil, places are limited so book yours today.


Down GAA Draw tickets on sale from any committee member or from the Club, please give serious consideration to buying a ticket this year and allow us to keep our membership fees etc low.


The Young Women’s Group (aged 13+) continues on Thursdays at 8pm moving on from hairdressing to beauty.


Bingo continues on Sundays at 8pm and Lotto on Mondays at 9pm.


The Camphill group continue to use the facilities at Dunavil on Mondays from 9.30pm to 10.30pm.


There is no youth club on Tuesday 26th or Wednesday 27th January.


Camogie practices are U6 & U8 on Wednesdays at 6.15pm; U10 & U12 on Wednesdays at 7.15pm; U14 & U16 on Thursdays at 7pm; Senior & Minor on Fridays at 8.30pm and Sundays at 10am.


The Rugby programme (aged 12+) resumes at 7.15pm on Wednesday 4th February.


On Wednesday 27 January at10am there is Volunteer Management Training at Newry.


The OCN Senior Members final training session takes place on Wednesday at 7pm at Dunavil after the Christmas break, see Leo for further information.


The An Riocht Annual General Meeting takes place on Wednesday at 7.30pm, all players (16+), parents of younger players, and supporters should attend.Each year, a Club must hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM). The AGM is the most important meeting of the year and every effort should be made to ensure that it is organised in accordance with the rules as laid out in the Club constitution.

The purpose of the AGM is to:

1. Review the work of the past year.

2. Review Financial statements and auditor’s reports.

3. Elect officers and executive committee members for the coming year.

4. Get members views on Club and GAA policy.

5. Consider Club policy and change or endorse it.

6. Make submissions through motions to the County Committee on the framing of policy and dealing with the rules of the Association.

Everyone can do a little so no one has to do too much!


Kids Movie Night at the Kingdom Cinema from 7.30pm each Friday.


FIFA tournament (aged 8+) continues on Mondays from 6.30pm.


Late Night Football (aged 13+) on Fridays at Dunavil.


The Winter Snooker League (aged 11+) resumes on Tuesday at 7pm.


On Tuesday2 February at5pm there is a meeting with EA & NMDC about organising a programme with young people from the Scrogg Road.


On Wednesday 3 February at8.15pm Girls Activities (aged 8+) resume after a week’s break with a possible joint venture with Glebe House Strangford being arranged.



10am on Sundays come along for Breakfast @ Dunavil, if possible give a bit of notice but if not, come anyway.
