Training

Promoting Positive Behaviour.

We still have some places on the forthcoming training scheduled for Newry Youth Resource Centre on Thursday the 2nd and 9th of June. 7pm to 9.30pm each evening

Positive Behaviour explores with participants the issues they currently have to address around the behaviour of members both in groups and within Youth Clubs and Units.

The training delivers an insight to the theory of behaviour in young people, particularly in understanding how other factors can have great effect on young people behaviours and the difficulty of trying to change these behaviours without fully understanding the young person experience and point of view.

The programme is aimed at awareness raising for youth work staff with a view to preparing them for developing their own policies and practice around behaviour management.

The training offers a mix of theory input, discussions and exercises. The course is aimed at everyone from the professional staff to part time staff and volunteers. It is also a useful experience for Mangers in getting an understanding as to the benefits and staff training and policy development in increasing effectiveness of the Youth group.

Applications must close on Thursday 26th May to facilitate confirmation of places.
