The P5/P6 Footballers enjoyed two games with visiting Rostrevor on Sunday morning at Dunavil.

Team One: Grazvydaz Gricus, Luke Quinn, Daegan Cordell, Jack McDonald, Luke Rafferty, Paul O’Rourke, Shea Rafferty, Ryan Campbell.

Team Two: Luke Quinn, Oran McAleenan, Jayden White, Zack Curran, Sean Small, Ethan Finnegan, Lucas Dicius, Darragh McAlinden, Conor Kelly.

Note:The Mourne League has been put back two weeks so no game this Wednesday.

The Camogs table quiz was a great success with 12 teams participating, thanks to everyone for their support.

 

The Concussion workshop was put back a week to Thursday 21st April due to the unavailability of a tutor.

 

Raffle tickets are out at present in aid of Camogie funds. Tickets are £1 each or book of six for £5 and are available from ALL Camogie players and coaches for a large selection of prizes. The Raffle will be drawn at the Camogie Coffee Morning on Saturday 7th May.

 

There are now over sixty young Camogs turning out each Wednesday for practice and this has put unprecedented pressure on the coaches to cope so we are calling on everyone to do their bit to help with either the U6 & U8 from 6.15pm to 7.15pm (perfect timing for those going on to Senior training at 7.30pm!) or with the U10 & U12 from 7.15pm to 8.15pm (for those not involved with Senior training).

 

 

Good Luck to Lauren Clarke and the Down Minor Camogs in the All Ireland ‘B’ Final v Roscommon on Saturday.

The Teen Girls sleepover went off a treat, thanks to the leaders for facilitating this event.

 

 

 The Paul Farrell Memorial Cup U14 Football seven-a-side will take place on Saturday 7th May at Dunavil. Six Groups of four teams will play a round robin giving each team three matches before splitting into Cup and Shield competitions.

The Camogs are having a table quiz on Friday night after the Senior Football match at Dunavil and would welcome all support, come as a team or come join a team; quiz master is Houston McVeigh ably assisted by Turlough Eastwood, light refreshments will be served.

 

There is a very important event at Dunavil on Thursday evening, a concussion workshop and all team officials, parents and adult players should be there, it all gets underway at 6.30pm.

 

La Na gClub, the national GAA Club Day is on Sunday 8th May and a programme of events for everyone is being arranged at Dunavil. If anyone has any ideas for the Day or wants to help they should contact the Club Secretary asap, let’s make it a day to remember!

Dunavil sports hall hosted the local heat of the Cumann Na mBunscoil Indoor Camogie last week with five teams participating.

 

The Easter Bunny was a welcome visitor at several practice sessions during the past week with treats for all the children at practice.

 

There was a good attendance at the Pharmacy project for older people talking about skin cancer / skin conditions. The next topic up for discussion ismale and female health, prostate cancer, testicular cancer, etc. Please come along if you want some info on these topics, it’s all very informal and the pharmacist is open to one to one queries.

 

 

Kingdom Camogie have arranged a table quiz for 8.30pm on Friday 15th April immediately after the Senior Football match between An Riocht and St Johns and a cake sale / coffee morning for May Bank Holiday weekend on Saturday 28th May.

 

The next meeting of the Kingdom Camogie committee is arranged for Wednesday 13th April at 8.30pm. The An Riocht Executive will meet at 7pm the same night.

 

An Riocht Senior Camogs have entered the Rose Boyle 9-a-side Senior Camogie tournament at Killeavy on Saturday 16th April.

 

An Riocht Camogs have applied for a place on the National Hurl with Me Programmeto be in with a chance to receive a tutor to run the programme for players aged seven to ten and their parents/guardians in our club for six weeks and also to attend the National Day in Dublin on Saturday 25th June.
