An Riocht Down Football Tournaments

The JG Donnan Cup & Shield 7-a-side Social Football Sevens at An Riocht (Cup Holders Atticall, Shield Holders Clonduff) take place on Saturday 1st September. The action gets underway at 3pm; there are seven pitches available, and the Finals are over for 7pm. After teams are finished there is hot food, presentation and craic agus ceol until 11.30pm. In the two years the tournament has run no fewer than ten All Ireland champions have taken part.

 

 

Social GAA is an opportunity for anyone who does not currently represent a club on the field of play to participate in a fun, non-competitive environment. It offers fun, enjoyment, exercise, health and fitness; a social outlet, friendships; an opportunity for past players/members to get reacquainted with their club. There isincidental contact only, no shouldering andtwo touches maximum (one solo and/or one bounce); whoever is fouled takes the free; teams are 7-a-side with a panel of 10. The entry fee £50 a team (£5 a player) includes entertainment, hot buffet & presentation after the event. All players are informed that they will not be covered by any insurance policy (unless they have their own private insurance) if they get injured; you play at your own risk, the incidental contact only rule is applied to lower the risk of injury. The Kingdom Cup U8 Football 11-a-side rescheduled tournament at An Riocht (Cup Holders Bellaghy, Shield Holders Gort Na Mona) takes place on Saturday 8th September. The emphasis will be on enjoyment and playing against new teams. Teas and sandwiches, burgers, ice cream and juice will be on sale. The first games will throw-in at 10.30am, there are eight pitches available, with the finals taking place at 3pm; each team is guaranteed at least three group games plus a minimum of one knockout game. There is an entry fee of £25 and every player receives a medal, a great way to end the season.
