Conservation Volunteers and the Rural Community Network

The GAA Social Initiative programme for older men continued when representatives from the Conservation Volunteers and the Rural Community Network attended Dunavil and all are reminded that this is a community initiative, you do not have to have played gaelic games to take part in the Social Initiative, so come along to the club at anytime and find out more, everyone welcome.

Preparations for allotments development, men’s shed, and a trip are advancing nicely.

Christmas Dinner at Dunavil on Christmas Day

The Christmas Dinner at Dunavil on Christmas Day went well, thanks to chef Pat and everyone who helped or attended.

Colm McAlarney attends An Riocht Social Initiative dinner

Colm McAlarney at the An Riocht Social Initiative dinner with some of those who attended on Saturday past. Colm regaled the attendance with anecdotes of his playing days in the red and black of Down and took questions also.

Thanks to Colm for giving of his time, to Tom for organising the event and to Pat and his colleagues for the sumptuous roast dinner provided.

On Wednesday Tom is meeting with representatives of the Mens Sheds Association to take that possibility further. If you have any ideas for Social Initiative activities, trips or talks, then let Tom know. You do not have to have played Gaelic Games to take part in the Social Initiative.
