U12.5 Footballers win at Brian O’Hare tournament

An Riocht hosted the u12.5 Brian O Hare memorial tournament on Sunday morning. The home side had 3 teams entered with each child getting plenty of football. With 4 fields of football going at the same time it was great to see a lovely atmosphere at the club. An Riocht played well in all their games with some fantastic football on display. With the high winds at times the children were able to judge their shots and took their scores well. With this being said the home team made it to the final. With the whole team on the side line showing their support to team mates it was great to see. An Riocht saved their best performance for the final. They met St Paul’s and there was a great show of football from both sides. A fantastic few saves from the young goalkeeper made sure to keep them in the game in the first few minutes. Again some great passing was made and they were able to find the net a few times. This along with the cheering from the sidelines gave the boys a great confidence boost helping them to secure the win. The coaches are so proud of them all. A massive well done to all involved. In the other final Kilcoo met Dromore Co. Tyrone. This was a fast paced game of football with Kilcoo coming away worthy winners. Well done to both teams in getting that far. The coaches and management would like to thank every volunteer who helped make the day a success. These days are successful because of those who give up their time including the support of the parents. We are looking forward to next season already.
