Well done to our u13 camogs who defeated a strong Mayobridge side in their first league game this morning.
An Riocht 2:05
Mayobridge 1:02
An Riocht u13 camogs travelled to Mayobridge for their first league game this morning. The sun was thankfully shining and both sides got off to a lively start. Sarah Hughes and Cliona Finnegan were in the middle of the pairc for the clash of the ash and helped the An Riocht girls get off to a great start with their excellent work rate and determination to win puck outs and 5050 balls. Defensively An Riocht were in top form with Annie McAleenan, Ella Small, Shayna Sloan, Ciara Fearon, Cara O’Neill, Lily Rose McConville and Jane Sloan mopping up balls, blocking and clearing their lines effectively. Olivia Fegan was solid and confident in goals with some superb pucking right down the field. At half time An Riocht went in just a goal in front. Mayobridge started the second half with a real determination and effort and only in the last ten minutes did An Riocht look comfortable for the win. Mya Campbell was sharp in front of the box converting a personal tally of 1 goal and 2 points. These scores were supported by excellent supply and passing from Annalise White, Katie Rose Rooney, Alex Donnelly and Annie Cordell. A fantastic effort from the entire team and thanks to Mayobridge for a competitive first game.
