Fantastic work from our u10s v Ballyholland during the week.
An Ríocht u14 LGFA welcomed Byransford on Wednesday night. A warm evening playing 12
a side did not take away from a good, tight game of football. Great skills on show by both
sides. An Ríocht kept taking their points in both halves and saw out a tough victory. Thanks
to the Byransford girls and the referee. Also, thanks to Shaun for the excellent action photos.
Match captain Amy was superb.
U14 Football An Ríocht 9-8 : 1-9 Warrenpoint.
It was a perfect Wednesday evening at Dunavil as the An Ríocht U14s produced a
dominant display to secure an impressive win. The lads came out flying, with Corey Rooney
finishing a superb team move for the opening goal and going on to have a great game. The
team applied relentless pressure, with strong defending and quick turnovers, and Captain
Ryan McVeigh dictated the pace brilliantly. With seven different scorers and goals from
Finley Spiers, Corey Rooney, Jack Loughran, and Kaiden McAlinden, An Ríocht built a
commanding half-time lead. The second half continued in the same fashion. Finley Spiers
added two more goals to take his tally to four, Ben Rooney chipped in with two points and a
goal, and Ruadhan O’Reilly rounded things off with a fine point. It was a brilliant all-round
team effort, and every player should be proud. We encourage club members to come and
watch this exciting team in action. An Ríocht Team: D. Timms, B. Anderson, J. Sloan, D.
Sloan, J. McGeough, R. McVeigh (0-1), C. McGeough, J. Trainor (0-1), K. McAlinden (1-0),

Congratulations to Luke Quinn who received his All Star at a celebration event in the Crowne
Plaza Hotel in Belfast. Well done, Luke!
An Ríocht under 15 footballers travelled to Clonduff for Feile on Sunday morning and
competed against Mayobridge, Carryduff and Ballyholland. The players done themselves
and the club proud. A few decisions didn’t go our way but that’s football and in the last game
the players showed the heart and grit that they have. A great attitude and determination to
bring back into their u14/u16 groups. Thanks to Curtis & Paddy for supporting the team. Well
done everyone.
Congratulations to club referee Gavin! Gavin was selected to referee the Ulster Senior
Ladies final on Sunday past in Clones. Gavin was supported by umpires Barney McCartan
(An Ríocht), Christopher Morgan (An Ríocht), Edmond Kali (An Ríocht) and Garbhan
McFerran (Burren). A fantastic achievement!
Underage camogie from u6 – u16 continues on Sunday mornings with Club Coach Anthony

young person has never played camogie before? We’d love to see old and new players join
in. Message our Facebook page or email secretary.anriocht.down@camogie.ie for more
