This Week’s Results

The u14 Camogs got a win 5-3 to 4-2 away to Culloville with five forwards getting on the score sheet. If any club is looking a challenge game, please get in touch. In the Down league An Riocht u14 Camogs won 2-6 to 0-3 in Liatroim, the girls worked hard and enjoyed the win. Lots of improvements to work on but good to see some of their training coming into the game. An Ríocht opened the scoring with a pointed free from Olivia Sloan. The centre-field pairing of Olivia Sloan and Grace Hughes dominated the middle of the park with tireless tackling, blocking, and hooking. Liatroim responded with a point from play, but this was quickly followed with a second An Ríocht point from Orlaigh Small. Liatroim upped the pressure on the An Ríocht defence, but Lucy Mae Cunningham, Ellie Cousins, Siofra Cahill, Eimear Sloan, Toni-Lee McVeigh and Ellie Sloan worked hard clearing their lines and kept the sliotar moving forward. Cara Rogers made a superb save to prevent what looked like a certain goal for the home side. Up front An Ríocht drove at Liatroim with Tia Mulholland Maddocks winning two frees which were comfortably pointed by Olivia Sloan to keep the scoreboard ticking over in the An Ríocht’s favour. There were some skillful pieces of team play up front between Kayleigh Donaghy, Orlaigh Small, Ava Rodgers, Grace Donnelly, Tia Mulholland Maddocks, Mya Harper, and Amy Harper. After a period of pressure on the Liatroim defence, Grace Donnelly found the net with a well taken goal and the nippy Josie Hughes finished a second major to seal the win for An Ríocht.

Team and scorers: Cara Rogers, Lucy Mae Cunningham, Ellie Cousins, Siofra Cahill, Toni-Lee McVeigh, Ellie Sloan, Grace Hughes, Olivia Sloan 0-4, Kayleigh Donaghy, Tia Mulholland Maddocks, Ava Rodgers, Grace Donnelly 1-0, Mya Harper, Orlaigh Small 0-1, Josie Hughes 1-0, Amy Harper.

In the absence of any games within Down, the u18 Camogs travelled to Ballymacnab on Friday for a match.

Both the u14 Football teams won their matches this week, home to St Johns and away to Rostrevor.

The u18 Footballers won in Clonduff 2-8 to 1-6.

In the u16 Football An Riocht beat St Johns 1-10 to 0-6 at Dunavil.

In the Senior Football at home v St Johns, An Ríocht’s winning run continued after a dour affair. The home side were always in control thanks in no small part to the visitors lack of ambition and we were always able to keep a safe distance on the scoreboard on the warmest evening of the season so far. Match ball kindly sponsored by Ciaran Cunningham and family.

The Premier Reserve Football match in Drumgath was postponed.

The u12 Camogie Blitz was switched to Clonduff and An Ríocht participated alongside Mayobridge, Warrenpoint, Liatroim and Clonduff.

The u10 Girls Football was away in Rostrevor.

The u12 Footballers were away v Ballyholland.

The Reserve Football home v Bright was called off.
