This Week’s Results

· The u14 Football away v Warrenpoint was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

· The u14 Ogs beat Ballyholland in an entertaining match by 4-8 to 3-6.

· In the Minor Football table topper clash at home v Rostrevor, An Ríocht lost by 1-8 to 2-8.

· At the u14 Camogie at home v Darragh Cross, An Ríocht put opening wins back to back with a 9-6 to 0-2 victory. The home side opened the scoring with a goal from Orlaigh Small followed by a point from Olivia Sloan. Darragh tried to get a score back but a strong half back line of Toni-Lee McVeigh, Amy Harper and Ellie Sloan tackled hard and cleared their lines. Up front, the An Ríocht girls found the back of the net again with a sequence of goals from Olivia Sloan, Orlaigh Small, Tia Mulholland Maddocks, Mya Harper and Grace Donnelly while Darragh put a pointed free over before half time. On the restart midfielders Grace Hughes and Olivia Sloan delivered some great balls into the forward line where Ava Rogers, Kayleigh Donaghy and Josie Hughes put serious effort in with some great hooking and blocking to regain possession and take some skilful scores with another 3 goals and well taken points from Orlaigh, Olivia, Kayleigh and Tia. Darragh did not give up and put another point over and gained more possession but the full backs worked tirelessly with Lucy Mae Cunningham driving out and some great catches and touches from Ellie Cousins and Siofra Cahill. In the second half Cara Rodgers in goals came under pressure a few times when Darragh broke through but she worked hard and cleared the ball right down the field. Cara also had lots of strong puck outs throughout the game. Team: Cara Rogers, Lucy Mae Cunningham, Ellie Cousins, Siofra Cahill, Amy Harper, Toni-Lee McVeigh, Ellie Sloan, Grace Hughes, Olivia Sloan 1-3, Kayleigh Donaghy 0-1, Tia Mulholland Maddocks 2-1, Ava Rogers, Mya Harper 1-0, Grace Donnelly 1-0, Orlaigh Small 4-1, Josie Hughes.

· In the Senior Camogie game at home v Ballyholland, An Ríocht crashed to a 6-20 to 1-6 defeat. Match sliotar kindly sponsored by the McAleenan Family. (PHOTO)

· The u16 Footballers lost at home to Rostrevor by 4-9 to 3-6.

· The u12 Camogs played Atticall in a challenge game on Friday evening.

· The Senior Footballers won again at home v Liatroim on Friday evening, 3-11 to 1-13. An opening solo goal from Declan Doyle gave An Ríocht an early platform but despite adding some good long- range points, An Ríocht were hauled back to level scores by the twenty-fifth minute. There was a lethargy and looseness about our play and though An Ríocht did edge ahead again, a Black Card handed the visitors a numerical advantage and either side of the half time break they made it pay with six successive scores to lead 1-13 to 1-7 going into the final quarter hour. Then a quality low ball from Jack Rodgers to Rory Cunningham and the full forward with his back to the goals spun and fired low past the keeper. Ronan McAlinden levelled from three frees and the momentum had swung back to An Ríocht. After Liatroim had spurned a chance, the resultant inch perfect kick out from Stephen Doran was collected by Cameron Gribben who released Jack Rodgers for a delightful finish to the net. Conor Clarke tagged on a point and the recovery was complete, An Ríocht winning the final quarter 2-4 to nil. Match ball kindly sponsored by Club Referees.

· In the Premier Reserve Football at home to Rostrevor, An Ríocht returned to the top of the table with a convincing 2-15 to 0-9 win.

· At the Primary Aged Camogie Blitzes in Ballyholland, An Ríocht enjoyed games with Clonduff and Kilcoo.

· The u12 Footballers had three games – home v Mayobridge, Gaels home v Saval and Ogs away v Mayobridge

· The Reserve Footballers lost away v St Johns 4-19 to 0-7.
