This Week’s Results

The u14 Footballers won at home to Saul 9-4 to 1-3.

The u14 Ogs won at home v Bryansford 6-4 to 2-7.

The Senior Camogs started the season off with a local derby and came away with a win 1-5 to 0-4. Atticall opened the game with a point from play before in tough conditions the ball fell for Sarah Higgins who took her point to get An Ríocht off the mark. Carrie Killen added a lead score and a few minutes later she found the back of the net. In the second half Aine Fearon got on the score sheet from a free and Aoife McDowell added two points from play which were enough in a low scoring affair. Team: Joanna Sloan, Emma Cousins, Clara Kali, Ellie Hughes, Lucia Higgins, Rachael Cunnigham, Aoife Rooney, Orla McAlinden, Danielle Higgins, Cerys Finnegan, Tierna Rooney, Aoife McDowell 0-2, Sarah Higgins 0-1, Carrie Killen 1-1, Aine Fearon 0–1. Subs: Noelle Fearon, Caoimhe Mcalinden, Ciarrai Connor, Bobbi-Jo Campbell, Tiarna Donnan, Megan Hughes, Lauren Marsh, Anna Quinn, Nicole O Hanlon, Sarah Hughes. Thanks to An Ríocht Club Referees who sponsored the match sliotar.

The u16 Camogie lost at home v Clonduff 5-29 to 1-2

The u18 Football home game v Bosco was off.

The Senior Camogie lost at home v Clonduff. 1-7 to 3-19. After a slow start An Riocht rallied a bit and at half time trailed nine points to five. On the restart Clonduff fired in two goals and though Aine Fearon responded immediately with a goal from a free, the visitors maintained overall control and ran out convincing winners. Thanks to Jim Sloan who sponsored the match sliotar.

The u16 Footballers won at home v St Patricks 2-14 to 1-9

The Senior Footballers won away v Longstone, 1-7 to 0-9. An early goal put An Ríocht in control and while we never put them away, we retained that advantage until the final whistle. Thanks to the Port Inn who sponsored the match ball.

The Premier Reserve Footballers lost their first game this season at home to Annaclone by 2-9 to 3-11. An Ríocht probably did not score enough with the first half breeze though a goal from Daegan Cordell and a point from Lorcan Donnan were memorable. Annaclone came out strongly on the restart and rattled off 2-5 in the third quarter to go in front and were experienced enough to hold onto their advantage.
