This Week’s Results:
On Monday evening An Riocht u14 footballers played a top of the table clash against Rostrevor in Dunavil. The big crowd was treated to a really good game with both teams playing some attractive football in a competitive encounter. An Riocht went in at the break with a lead of just a single point as a skilful Rostrevor team was proving to be a hard nut to crack. An Riocht upped their game in the second half and played some very good, fast flowing football, taking some nice scores and eventually winning by a score line of 4-13 to 3-5. Everyone played their part in what was very much a team performance with great energy, team spirit and skill. The team remains unbeaten with two league games left. The u14 Ogs football team also played on Monday making the journey to play away in Teconnaught. Again after a tight first half An Riocht would regroup and after a few changes and advice from their coaches would come out to play some excellent football in the second half. We would eventually win the game on a scoreline of 8-9 to 3-6. This squad is now joint top with 3 league games remaining. Coaches have pinpointed work rate and the fact everyone plays as a team as major factors on their overall performances. On Monday players were very versatile rotating into different positions and took on instructions to help them develop as players. Well done to everyone on both teams.

The u14 Camogs won at home v Clonduff by 11-10 to 3-1. An Riocht opened the scoring with a pointed free from Olivia. Olivia and Tia worked hard in the middle of the park with tireless tackling, blocking, and hooking. An Riocht had a few wides before good play in from Eimear and Kayleigh resulted in a goal for Mya. This was followed with a great run from Olivia finished with a goal. The An Riocht forwards worked hard and Grace made some great tackles to maintain possession allowing Orlaigh to land another in the back of the net. Clonduff upped the pressure on the An Ríocht defence but Toni-Lee, Faye and Ellie continued to work hard clearing their lines and keeping the sliotar moving forwards. Siofra had a great block, Ellie and Lucy Mae mastered the full back line though Clonduff scored a deserved goal in half time stoppage. Cara in goals had great puck outs driving the sliotar down the field where Eimear, Grace and Josie displayed some great team work and handling of the sliotar. Clonduff broke through again and landed a further two goals in quick succession, however a few points from Toni-Lee and Olivia and goals from Mya, Tia, Kayliegh and Orlaigh ensured An Ríocht .Team: Cara Rogers, Lucy Mae Cunningham, Ellie Cousins, Siofra Cahill, Amy Harper, Toni-Lee McVeigh (0:2), Ellie Sloan, Grace Hughes, Olivia Sloan (1:6), Kayleigh Donaghy (1:0), Tia Mulholland Maddocks (1:1), Eimear Sloan, Mya Harper (2:0), Grace Donnelly, Orlaigh Small (6:1), Josie Hughes.
