An Ríocht U12 Camogs attended their first blitz of the season in Warrenpoint, delivering two
strong team performances against Atticall and Warrenpoint. An Ríocht defense stood strong
with Faye Harper, Lucy McComiskey, Kimberly Kearney, Anastasia Renge, Mila Annett and
Lauren Bowater all showing a great display of tackling, hooking and blocking. In midfield
Bella-Rose Killen, Lilyann Annett, Sara McVeigh and Josie Hughes battled with great
determination providing a good supply of balls into the forward line. Up front the forwards
Lexi Maddocks, Eva Murney, Sophie Cheetham-Lowery and Fiona Gillen worked hard
keeping their opponents under pressure and showing the attacking strength of the team. The
girls all showed great teamwork. We wish them well in their next blitz on the 3rd May. Scores

Saturday was a busy day for our girl footballers at An Ríocht. We hosted an U8/10 mini blitz.
Thankfully the rain cleared for over 70 girls from An Ríocht, Castlewellan and Ballymartin to
showcase their skills. Big thanks to the teams, mentors and parents who helped out. Into the
afternoon we welcomed East Belfast in the warm sunshine for an U14 League match. Both
sides had key players away but played a fantastic match with An Ríocht just edging the win.
Big thanks to the travelling East Belfast team and their coaches and supporters and to
attending referee. U14 Captain Ariya led by example in the day. Keep it going girls.

Underage camogie from u6 – u16 continues on Sunday mornings with Club Coach Anthony
O’Brien. Has your young person played before and hasn’t returned this season? Maybe your
young person has never played camogie before? We’d love to see old and new players join
in. Message our Facebook page or email secretary.anriocht.down@camogie.ie for more
details.
