Our u12 camogs travelled to Liatroim on Sat morning for their 2nd Blitz of the season. The
girls delivered 2 strong team performances. Having suffered a narrow defeat to Liatroim in
which was a highly competitive game from start to finish, the girls went into their second
game determined to get the win. Over both games An Ríocht defense of Kimberley Kearney,
Lily McBurney, Faye Harper, Lauren Bowater and Lucy McComisky worked hard to keep the
opposition out and gave nothing away easily. In Midfield Sara McVeigh, Josie Hughes and
Sophie Cheetham-Lowry battled tirelessly, breaking down attacks, gaining possession,
taking scores and working the sliotar into the forward line. Up front in forwards was Lexi
Maddocks, Eva Murney, Bella Rose Killen, Anastasia Renge and Brooke Harper. The girls
showed real grit and determination never backing down to help secure scores. The girls all
showed great attitude and determination throughout. Well done to you all. Scorers: Lexi
Maddocks, Josie Hughes and Sara McVeigh.
P5/6 camogs travelled to Warrenpoint for games on Friday evening. Well done to all the
players and thanks to Warrenpoint for having us.
Our u16 camogs travelled to Carryduff on Tuesday for their third league fixture. In what was
a fiercely physical and hard-fought game of camogie, every girl on the field gave everything
they had from the first whistle to the final play. The match was a testament to grit, resilience,
and an unbreakable team spirit that shone through across the pitch. We had Cara Rogers
standing tall between the sticks. Her quick reflexes were on full display as she dealt with
high balls, close-range shots, and crowded goal mouth scrambles. She stayed composed
throughout the game delivering strong puckouts. The back line of Siofra, Ellie Cousins,
Eimear, Ellie Sloan, Ciara, Katie Rose and Amy Harper all worked tirelessly throughout the
game never giving the opposition an inch. Whether it was blocking, hooking, or making
crucial clearances under pressure, the girls worked as a unit and gave nothing away. In the
heart of the pitch Olivia and Toni Lee ran themselves into the ground; breaking down attacks,
linking play, and launching drives forward. They battled for every loose sliotar with relentless
energy and support play that kept the kingdom girls moving forward. Up front in forwards
was Ava, Tia, Kayleigh, Mya, Grace, Orlaigh and Lucy Mae who showed real determination,
never backing down in the face of a strong defensive effort from Carryduff. The home side
made a few key changes at half time strengthening their back line but the Mourne girls
chased every ball, fought for every scrap of possession, and made life uncomfortable for the
Carryduff defence keeping the pressure on and the scoreboard ticking to secure the win.
From the goals to the full forward line, every girl played her part in what was a tough,
physical contest. They dug deep, supported one another, and showed incredible heart
throughout, a full-team effort. Team: Cara Rogers, Eimear Sloan, Ellie Cousins, Siofra Cahill,
Katie Rose Rooney, Ciara Fearon, Ellie Sloan 0.1, Toni-Lee McVeigh, Olivia Sloan 0.2, Tia
Mulholland-Maddocks, Kayleigh Donaghy, Ava Rogers, Orlaigh Small 1.1, Grace Hughes
1.1, Mya Harper 2.0, Amy Harper, Lucy Mae Cunningham.
